Philipp Zrenner

Philipp Zrenner was born in 1995 in Munich, where he continues to live and work. He recently completed his studies at the Munich Academy of Fine Arts under the guidance of Olaf Metzel and Gerry Bibby. His artistic practice focuses on the dynamics of public space—examining how it is utilized, claimed, and regulated. Zrenner is intrigued by the transformation of urban materials and symbols, such as road signs and construction barriers, exploring themes of control and mobility within cities. His work challenges viewers to reconsider these everyday objects as catalysts for dialogue and reflection about urban life, urging a reevaluation of our interactions with communal spaces.
